JL Laverty is an author, photographer, creative. His life has taken him from the shores of James Bay to the Bay of Fundy and down the Buffalo River in Arkansas as well as naively searching for rattlesnakes in the Baja Desert. He's told stories in Romania, and with the Cree first nation. He's done stage effects and pyrotechnics and had his timber framing featured in Ontario Life Magazine. This broad life experience has added to his creative perspective and fueled a desire to tell meaningful stories.
Residing with his family in Muskoka Ontario, Josh finds inspiration in the created world around him, amongst the Canadian shield and the great pines along the Muskoka River. Apart from his non-fiction writing, Josh also released his first novel entitled, "The Modis", a steampunk adventure set in the early 1800's.
